What's New
addycomplete is essentially an MSIE-Ctrl+Enter-esque behavior for mozilla.
What?
In Microsoft's Internet Explorer, one can automatically complete a URL typed into the address bar, by holding Ctrl while pressing Enter. Unfortunately, mozilla doesn't have any native equivalent (see WONTFIX Bug #37867). I don't like to wait for mozilla to complete the address for me...
Usage
Another bit of unfortunate news is that mozilla hijacks the ctrl+enter keystroke for it's own devices (I'm convinced that its out of spite). So you'll need a little retraining: to use addycomplete, hold Alt while pressing Enter. Additionally, addycomplete will cancel the autocompletion if you've already included things like "http://" or ".com".
To Do
- make the override even smarter
- look into reclaiming Ctrl+Enter as the keystroke
- modifiers for alternate domains?
- uninstall?
